Russian citizens Getting Married in Italy Documentation
PLEASE NOTE and READ CAREFULLY the first two points below if you are getting married in TUSCANY or South of Tuscany:
- It is impossible for us to speak to the consulate, as they will only speak to the couple.
- For weddings in central and southern Italy (mainly in Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio i.e. Rome) the consulate of reference is the one based in Rome.
- To obtain the Nulla Osta you must bring the following documentation (our wedding planner assigned to you can help you with this) to the Consulate General:
1) If the applicant has NOT been married before:– The original Russian domestic and original foreign passport
– Birth certificate (original or certified true copy in full form – including full names of the parents)
– Consular form, see the consulate site below
– Copy of the ID document of the other spouse

2) If the applicant has been married before, but their name did not change:
– The original Russian domestic and original foreign passport
– Birth certificate (original or certified true copy in full form – including full names of the parents)
– Certificate of divorce (original or certified true copy)
– Consular form, see the consulate site below
– Copy of the ID document of the other spouse
3) If the applicant has been married before and changed names:
– The original Russian domestic and original foreign passport
– Birth certificate (original or certified true copy in full form – including full names of the parents)
– Certificate of divorce (original or certified true copy)
– Archival record of the marriage termination, made by the registry offices of the place where the previous wedding took place, confirming the change of name of the applicant (original or certified true copy)
– Consular form, see the consulate site below
– Copy of the ID document of the other spouse
4) If the applicant was married and his/her spouse died:
– The original Russian domestic and original foreign passport
– Birth certificate (original or certified true copy in full form – including full names of the parents)
– The death certificate of spouse (original or certified true copy)
– Consular form see the consulate site below
– Copy of the ID document of the other spouse
5) If the other spouse to be is not Russian you must ALSO bring his/her:
– Copy of his/her passport
– Official document stating residency (it cannot be a bill or bank statement, it must be an official document either released by the vital statistics office, the registrar or a picture ID with the full address of residence of the other spouse)
In the case of a change of surname, name and patronymic, it is requested to show the original certificate of the change released by the Russian civil registry offices.
